Wildwood gets a release window

The film is helmed by Travis Knight, the CEO and Director of Laika Studios

Earlier, we reported that Laika Studios is backing the stop-motion animated film Wildwood. The latest is that the Studio's CEO and director Travis Knight has confirmed that the film will hit screens sometime in 2025. The CEO confirmed the same in an interview with Empire Magazine

Wildwood is an adaptation of Young-Adult fantasy novels by Colin Meloy and is based on the first book of a trilogy. The film is set to revolve around a boy Mac who is taken by a murder of crows to the enchanted forest. To save her brother, Mac's sister Prue McKeel takes her classmate Curtis along into the enchanted forest. Prue, who thinks she's too old for fairytales, ends up in the middle of one where she finds talking animals, roguish bandits and sinister beings with dark intentions. 

Laika Studios is known for making stop-motion animated films like Kubo and the Two Strings, Coraline and Paranorman. The fantasy adventure film is set in the US town of Portland, Oregon. Travis Knight is also directing the film, he is known for making Kubo and the Two Strings and the live-action Bumblebee film.
