The prequel series for the John Wick film franchise, The Continental, will premiere on Prime Video on September 22.

The Continental is backed by Lionsgate Television and will have the titular role as its main premise. The series is narrated through the perspective of a young Winston Scott who is the manager of the hotel which acts as a refuge for the assassins. The character will be played by Colin Woodell.

The Continental will not include Keanu Reeves' titular hitman character that is on a revenge spree. However the series will be set before the first John Wick film. The show is set against the backdrop of 1970s New York.

Cast of the upcoming show will also consist of Ayomide Adegun, Mel Gibson, Mishel Prada, Jeremy Bobb, Ben Robson, Nhung Kate, Jessica Allain, and Hubert Point-Du Jour. Greg Coolidge and Kirk Ward serve as writers and show runners on The Continental. Albert Hughes and Charlotte Brandstrom will direct.
