Netflix's much-celebrated teen drama, Elite, has been renewed for an eighth season. The renewal news was announced before the series' seventh season premiere, slated for October 28. 

The episodes of the eighth season will be directed by Daniel Barone, Ginesta Guindal, Jota Linares and Elena Trapé. With Mina el Hammani returning to reprise her role of Nadia, S8 will feature new additions to the cast, including Ane Rot and Nuno Gallego. 

Created by Carlos Montero and Jaime Vaca, the first season, consisting of eight episodes, was released on Netflix on October 5, 2018. The series revolves around the mishaps of a group of teens who attend an exclusive private school in Spain called Las Encinas.
