Actor Anthony Carrigan is part of James Gunn’s upcoming film Superman: Legacy.  

Anthony, who is known for his performance in HBO show Barry, will be joining the cast that comprises of David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced and Edi Gathegi among others.

In Superman: Legacy, the titular character will be portrayed by David with Rachel essaying the role of Lois Lane. Anthony will play the role of DC character Metamorpho, the archeologist-turned-hero Rex Mason.

Besides direction, James has also written the script of the film. It will hit the theatres on July 11, 2025. James had earlier clarified that the upcoming film will not trace the origin story of Clark Kent. The film, which will part of Chapter 1 Gods and Monsters and new DC Universe, will be first among projects announced after James and Peter Safran took over DC.

The film will go on floors in 2024.
