The shooting of Fede Alvarez's upcoming film Alien has been wrapped up. The film is set to release on August 16, 2024.

The film is set to star Cailee Spaeny, Isabela Merced, Archie Renaux, David Jonsson, Spike Fearn and Aileen Wu. Alien had gone on floors sometime in March this year in Budapest.

While the plot of the film has been kept under wraps, it is expected that the film will revolve around a group of young people find themselves facing down the most horrifying life forms in the known universe, presumably the Xenomorphs, on a foreign planet. It is said to be different from the adult, militaristic settings of the previous films, focussing on the younger survivors as they try to guard off the Xenomorphs.

It is to be noted that the upcoming Alien film is the ninth installment of the film franchise and will serve as a standalone part. It is backed by 20th Century Studios and Scott Free Productions.
