A new feature film adaptation of Tomb Raider is in development at Amazon apart from the television series based on the same video game.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, a cinematic universe connecting the world of Tomb Raider, including the television series, feature film and video games, is in the works. It is also believed that this could be one of the biggest deals acquired by the studio following the acquisition of Lord of the Rings franchise.

The television adaptation is written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, while it is still unknown who will pen the script for the film.

Tomb Raider or also known as Lara Croft: Tomb Raider is an action adventure franchise which revolves around the titular British archaeologist who travels across the world in search of lost artifacts. Several film adaptations have been made, including the ones portrayed by Angelina Jolie.
