As the  95th Academic nominations are echoing in the air, Pearl and Infinite pool star Mia Goth has pointed out the lack of horror film recognition by the Academy.

When asked about her Pearl's Oscar snub and the Academy’s continual rejection of horror, the actor said, “I think that it’s very political and that it’s not entirely based on the quality of a project per se,” Goth told reporter Jake Hamilton on the lack of genre diversity among the nominees.  “I think a lot is going on there, a lot of cooks in the kitchen when it comes to nominations and categories that are recognized. Maybe I shouldn’t say that either but I think that’s true. I think a lot of people know that. I don’t know why.” The actor added.

This year Jordan Peele’s Nope was left out of the nominees. Despite critical acclaim and over $100 million at the box office. Ti West’s and Pearl were also missing.

Meanwhile, Mia Goth continues her scream queen reign with the upcoming MaXXXine, completing the trilogy, out later this year.
