The makers of Barbarian, the horror thriller film which released in 2022, is set to team up once again for a film titled Weapons. Zach Cregger, who wrote and directed Barbarian will collaborate with Vertigo Entertainment producing the film.

The film is expected to go on floors later this year and will have a theatrical release subsequently.

Besides helming the project, Zach will also serve as the producer along with Roy Lee of Vertigo. JD Lifshitz and Raphael Margules will also back the project under BoulderLight Pictures. Just like Barbarian, Weapons will also be a horror-thriller film and distributed by Warner Bros Pictures.

Zach proved with Barbarian that he can create a visceral theatrical experience for audiences and that he commands every tool in the filmmaker toolbelt. We couldn’t be happier that he, Roy and Miri, and JD and Rafi chose New Line to be the home of his next film, and hope it is the first of many to come," Richard Brener, President and Chief Creative Officer at New Line Cinema, was quoted as saying in a statement accessed by Collider.

Barbarian is a horror thriller film which revolved around two strangers who double-book an Air BNB. They soon find secret passages and basement in the house they live in, which unravels an horrific mystery.
