Following the release of Violent Night in December 2022, producer Kelly McCormick confirmed that its sequel is in the works. The latest update is that the sequel will also be directed by Tommy Wirkola and will have a script penned by Pat Casey and Josh Miller.

It may be noted that Violent Night,  the Christmas action comedy film, fared well at the box office. Meanwhile, according to The Wrap, Wirkola spoke about the sequel in conversation He said that deals are being made for the sequel. He also noted that the production would not begin anytime soon. He further said that they first have to crack the script and figure out the story. Noting that they have some ideas, he added, "There is stuff we left on the floor like the North Pole, Mrs Claus, the elves, but story-wise I think we have a really, really cool idea that expands on the world and scope, but still keeping that tone that we love from the first one."
