Magic Mike's Last Dance sets digital release date

The third instalment in the Magic Mike series, Magic Mike's Last Dance will now be available on digital from February 28. The move is for watchers who prefer to own a copy of their own. The film had an impressive box office run, at its opening weekend. 

Written by Reid Carolin, Magic Mike's Last Dance was directed by the director of the franchise, Steven Soderbergh. The film has grossed $48.8 million so far at the worldwide box office. However, it opened to mixed to average criticisms. 

Salma Hayek made her entry into the franchise with Magic Mike's Last Dance. She played the role that previously had Thandie Newton. According to the official synopsis, the film follows Salma Hayek’s character getting stuck in an awful strip show, eventually leading her down a rabbit hole of discoveries. 

The franchise started with Magic Mike in 2012, which was based on Tatum’s own real-life experiences as an exotic male dancer before his rise to stardom in Hollywood. The film became a huge box office success, spawning a sequel titled Magic Mike XXL in 2015.

Along with Tatum as Mike and Hayek as Maxandra, the ensemble cast features Ayub Khan Din as Victor, Vicki Pepperdine as Edna, Alan Cox as Roger, Caitlin Gerard as Kim, Jemelia George as Zadie, and Juliette Motamed as Hannah, all of whom packs in powerful performances.
