Julie Walter has pulled out of the Channel 4 drama series Truelove owing to ill health. She is being replaced by Lindsay Duncan in the Clarke Peters-starrer.

9 months ago, the filming was halted due to Walters suffering from back pain. The filming for Truelove will recommence in Bristol later this year. With her pulling out and Duncan replacing all cast members have agreed to return to filming.

In 2018, Walters was diagnosed with bowel cancer, after which she took a break from acting. Truelove was her first acting role in six years.

Truelove will star Lindsay Duncan as Phil and Clarke Peters as Ken. Childhood sweethearts, the two meet again in their 70s after decades apart. At a funeral, they discuss what an ‘ideal’ death might look like with a group of friends and forge a drunken pact: rather than let each other suffer a slow and dreadful decline, they will step in and engineer a dignified death.
