Victoria Pedretti, Blair Underwood, Finn Wittrock, join cast of Ava DuVernay's film 

The upcoming film which is inspired by Pulitzer Prize winning book Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents

Actors Blair Underwood, Finn Wittrock, Victoria Pedretti, Isha Blaaker, Leonardo Nam, Donna Mills and Emily Yancy have joined the cast of Ava DuVernay's upcoming film which is inspired by Pulitzer Prize winning book Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson. The film will be led by Aunjanue Ellis.

Besides the said cast members, the film will also feature Vera Farmiga, Niecy Nash-Betts, Nick Offerman, Jon Bernthal, Audra McDonald, Connie Nielsen, Jasmine Cephas Jones and Myles Frost.

The project was first announced in 2020 with Ava serving as writer and director. The book explores the system of how hierarchy works and was described by The New York Times as "an instant American classic and almost certainly the keynote nonfiction book of the American century thus far". The project is backed by Ava along with Paul Garnes under Array Filmworks. The filming is currently underway in New Delhi and was also shot in Berlin, and Savannah.
