Mary Elizabeth Winstead cast in Rich Flu

Actor Mary Elizabeth Winstead who is known for her role soap opera Passions, joined the cast of the upcoming film Rich Flu, which will be a satirical thriller. In addition to Mary, the film also stars Lorraine Bracco, father and son duo Timothy and Rafe Spall, Jonah Hauer-King, Cesar Domboy, Dayana Esebe, and Richard Sammel among others.

The filming for Rich Flu is currently happening in Barcelona, Senegal and Fuerteventura. The film is about a deadly disease that first begins by targeting the super rich, before trickling down the economic ladder and affecting anyone with wealth. This results in people trying to dispose off their wealth to escape the disease. It is to be noted that earlier Rosamund Pike, Daniel Bruhl and Macauley Culkin were cast in the film, but all three later stepped down from the project.  

The upcoming feature is directed by Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia who will co-write the script along with Pedro Rivero, David Desola, and Sam Steiner. It is backed by Pablo Larraín and Juan de Dios Larraín under Fabula banner, Adrián Guerra and Núria Valls under Nostromo Pictures along with Carlos Juárez and Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia under Basque Films, and Albert Soler for Mamma Team.
