First looks of Tyler Perry's Netflix period drama Six Triple Eight out

The makers of Tyler Perry's upcoming Netflix period drama Six Triple Eight shared the first looks from the film, which is set against the backdrop of World War 2. Actor Kerry Washington, who is starring in the film, along with Tyler shared the first looks on social media.

Apart from Kerry, the film also features Oprah Winfrey, Ebony Obsidian, Milauna Jackson, Kylie Jefferson, Shanice Shantay, Sarah Jeffery, Pepi Sonuga, Jay Reeves, Jeanté Godlock, Moriah Brown, Baadja-Lyne Odums, Gregg Sulkin, with Dean Norris, Sam Waterston, and Susan Sarandon.

Six Triple Eight will revolve around the 6888th battalion which was the only all-black, all-female battalion during the WW2 effort. The film will be based on an article by Kevin M Hymel, which was published in the WW2 History Magazine by Sovereign Media.

Tyler will write, direct and produce the feature film. It is to be noted that Six Triple Eight will be his fourth film for Netflix after A Fall From Grace, A Madea Homecoming, and A Jazzman's Blues.

The film will be backed by Tyler, Nicole Avant under Her Excellency Productions, Keri Selig for Intuition Productions, Carlota Espinosa, Angi Bones and Tony Strickland for Tyler Perry Studios banner. It will be executive produced by Peter Guber.
