The sequel of Mike Colter-starrer Plane is in development after its success this year. Directed by Jean-François Richet, the project is set to begin production this year. The sequel will be titled Ship and Mike Colter will be returning to reprise his role in the film.

Mike played Louis Gaspere, a former GCP French Foreign Legion in Plane. He was one of the passengers on the flight and was being extradited to Canada on charges of homicide. The film showed him teaming up with commercial pilot Brodie Torrance (Gerard Butler) after their plane crashed on Jobo Island in the Philippines.

While Plane feature Gerard as the protagonist, Ship will feature Mike as the hero. It is still unclear if Gerard will also be returning to the sequel. The producers of Plane are still in discussion with writers and directors for Ship. While there is no release window for Ship yet, production is expected to begin in late 2023.
