Five days after getting its streaming debut on Disney+, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is now the most-watched Marvel premiere on Disney+ around the globe. The company announced the news on Monday based on hours streamed within the first five days.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever had its theatrical release on November 11. It then premiered on Disney+ on February 1. Disney did not provide any specific viewing numbers for the film's streaming. According to Variety, the claim is based on Disney's internal measurements.

Directed by Ryan Coogler, the Marvel sequel takes place following the death of Chadwick Boseman’s King T’Challa with the people of Wakanda grieving his loss and searching for a way for their kingdom to endure.  The film stars  Angella Bassett,  Dominique Thorne, Tenoch Huerta Mejia and  Lupita Nyong'o.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been nominated for five Academy Awards. Its Oscar nominations included one for Bassett for supporting actress in the film; she became the first woman, the first person of colour and the first Marvel Studios actor to be nominated for an Academy Award for a performance in a comic-book adaptation.
