The trailer of Michael Shannon and Kate Hudson's A Little White Lie was released on Tuesday. The film features Shannon as an imposter finding himself entangled in a growing lie.

Shannon's character Shriver is mistaken as an author who has been hiding for over 20 years. A person who has never even read a book his whole life, Shriver goes with the flow and attends a college literary festival under his new identity. He finds himself amidst adoring fans and also begins developing an attraction to an English professor, played by Kate Hudson. The banter between the two leads showcases a fun camaraderie. From here Shriver's life gets entangled as the lie begins to spiral out.

Directed by Michael Maren, A Little White Lie is based on Shriver, a novel by Chris Belden, who will also script the screenplay. The film stars Shannon and Hudson alongside Zach Braff, Kate Linder, Aja Naomi King, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, and Don Johnson. A Little White Lie will be released in theatres and digitally on March 3.
