The Strangers Chapter 1, the third film in The Strangers film series and the first instalment of a new trilogy of standalone sequel films, has a release date now. 

Madelaine Petsch, who plays the lead role in the upcoming film, shared a teaser that revealed the film will be released in theatres on May 17, 2024.

The Strangers original film, released in 2008,  written and directed by Bryan Bertino, follows a couple, played by  Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman, whose stay at a vacation home is disrupted by three masked intruders. The upcoming film will also follow a similar premise. 

Directed by Renny Harlin, the upcoming film has a script written by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland. Besides Madelaine Petsch, The Strangers Chapter 1 also stars Froy Gutierrez, Rachel Shenton, Gabriel Basso and Ema Horvath, among others.
