A third installment in the Orphan franchise is in the making, director of the 2022 film Orphan: First Kill William Brent Bell, confirmed recently. The director helmed the second part of the horror franchise which revolves around orphan girl Esther with a disurbing and haunting past and presence.

While the first part Orphan, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, revolved around Esther who is adopted by a couple who later discover who she really is, Orphan: First Kill is a prequel on what happened to the character before she was adopted.

"We’re developing a third one now. The franchise’s rulebook has been opened up to where anything is possible. And knowing where we are in the process already, I’m extremely excited about the twists and turns that we have in store," William said to The Hollywood Reporter.

Details on the cast and crew of the upcoming third part are yet to be revealed.
