On Wednesday, Universal Pictures unveiled the trailer of the fourth film in the Kung Fu Panda series. Set to hit theatres on March 8, 2024, the upcoming sequel is helmed by Mike Mitchell, along with Stephanie Ma Stine.
This time around, Po Ping is promoted from Dragon Warrior to the role of the mentor, Grand Master. Just as he struggles to take up the power, he becomes responsible for fighting the newest villain in town, called The Chameleon. Well, she isn't unlike any other villain he's faced, except, she can bring back past villains and shape-shift into them. Po is on a mission, to find the next in line to be Dragon Warrior and defeat the greatest enemy, but among other things, his clumsiness and hunger come in the way, in this film with high-kicking humour.
Jack Black has returned to voice the titular character, Po Ping, along with the A-lister ensemble of Angelina Jolie, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, David Cross, and Jackie Chan. The newest additions to the voice cast of Kung Fu Panda 4 include Ke Huy Quan, Viola Davis and Awkwafina. Davis has voiced the role of The Chameleon.
