Barbie to become highest grossing film for Warner Bros internationally

With Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie's Barbie already one among the highest grossing films of this year, the film is set to overtake Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 and thus becoming the highest global release for Warner Bros. It is to be noted that the film holds the first place for any Warner Bros production to mint the most domestically.

Barbie had collected $18.2 million over the weekend in the international screens and thus pushing its worldwide gross to $1.34 billion. Barbie is also expected to dethrone The Super Mario Bros. Movie to hold the first place at global box office this year.

As per reports, Barbie holds 16th position among the biggest films in terms of worldwide collection in the history. The film is also said to be the biggest film ever to be directed by a woman.

Barbie, which takes inspiration from Mattel’s iconic doll, stars Margot Robbie in the lead role as the Stereotypical Barbie and Ryan Gosling playing Ken. The film also features America Ferrera, Issa Rae, Simu Liu, Michael Cera, Kate McKinnon, Will Ferrell, among others.
