 Karthik Subbaraj heaps praises on Ponniyin Selvan 2

Based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's novel, Ponniyin Selvan is adapted by Mani Ratnam, along with Elango Kumaravel and B Jeyamohan

The much-awaited second part of Ponniyin Selavan hit the theatres on Friday. The film has been getting applause from various corners, including the film fraternity. Director Karthik Subbaraj is one of the first personalities who lauded the film. 

Taking to Twitter, Karthik Subbaraj said, "Ponniyin Selvan 2  The real Magnus opus of the king Mani Ratnam, sir. A film we all can be so Proud off Awesome!! Karikalan and Nandhini's Love story is still haunting."  

Based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's novel, Ponniyin Selvan is adapted by Mani Ratnam, along with Elango Kumaravel and B Jeyamohan. The first part was released in September last year and minted big at the box office. The film stars an ensemble cast including Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Trisha, Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R Parthiban. 

Meanwhile, Karthik Subbaraj last directed Vikram-starrer Mahaan, and the director has Jigarthanda 2 in the works.
