Streaming platform Max reveals Welcome to Derry, release window 

Based on the horror novel by Stephan King, Andy Muschietti, will be directing multiple episodes of the series

Earlier, we reported that a series titled  Welcome to Derry, credited as the prequel to the horror film franchise, It, is in the works at HBO Max. On Wednesday, Warner Bros. Discovery merged its content portfolio's HBO Max and Discovery+ and introduced a rebranded streaming platform, Max. Now the series, which will be streamed at Max, will debut in 2024. The makers announced during the event. 

Based on the horror novel by Stephan King, Andy Muschietti, who helmed the big-screen adaptations It and It: Chapter Twowill be directing multiple episodes of the series. Barbara Muschietti and Jason Fuchs are also on board for the project. Fuchs will pen the first episode of Welcome to Derry based on a story by the Muschiettis, and he also serves as showrunner along with Brad Caleb Kane. 

Welcome to Derry stars Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, James Remar, and Chris Chalk, among others.
