Steve McQueen’s World War II period drama Blitz wraps filming

Saoirse Ronan will be playing a prominent role in the film, which revolves around the aerial bombing on the UK by German forces during World War II

It was earlier announced that 12 Years A Slave director Steve McQueen is working on a World War II period drama titled Blitz, with Saoirse Ronan playing a prominent role in the film. Now, the makers have announced that they have finished production on the film, which was taking place in the UK. 


Based on an original idea by Steve McQueen, the film revolves around the aerial bombing by the German forces on the UK during the height of the second World War. According to reports, the makers are currently working on the post production, eyeing to premiere their film at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September.


Apart from writing and directing the film, McQueen is also producing the film along with Apple Studios. The cast of Blitz also includes Harris Dickinson, Erin Kellyman, Leigh Gill, Paul Weller, and Stephen Graham.
