The first official trailer for Spoiler Alert: The Hero Dies releases online. The film stars Jim Parsons as real-life entertainment journalist Michael Ausiello. The biographical drama is directed by Michael Showalter, known for directing films like The Big Sick and Wet Hot American Summer. 

The film is based on the book of the same name written by Ausiello while the screenplay for the film is written by David Marshall Grant and Dan Savage. The film follows Ausiello after he experiences the demise of his partner Kit Cowan due to terminal cancer and explores the 13-year-long relationship between Ausiello and Cowan.

The cast list of the film also includes Sally Field, Bill Irwin, and Antoni Porowski in supporting roles. Distributed by Focus Features, the film is currently scheduled to release on 2 December 2022.
