The makers of Rick and Morty have released the opening sequence for season 6, showing new footage from the upcoming episodes. The glimpses show us the whacky, mind-bending, surreal adventures that Rick & Morty dive into this season. The adult animated show, created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, is known for its wacky humour and use of high-concept sci-fi themes combined with absurd story moments in every episode.

Adult Swim had recently announced the new season with a teaser poster on Twitter with a full-length trailer for season 6. After a series-altering ending in the season 5 finale, the show is back on the air starting from September 4. In the style of the series’ humour, Adult Swim revealed the direction of season 6 with a premise that read, “Piss! Family! Intrigue! A bunch of dinosaurs! More piss!”

Creator Justin Roiland voices both the main characters: Rick, the scientist grandpa, and his sidekick grandson, Morty Smith. Co-Creator Dan Harmon makes cameo appearances, voicing a character named BirdPerson, who also goes by PhonenixPerson. The rest of the recurring cast includes Chris Parnell, Spencer Grammer, and Sarah Chalke.
