Marvel Studios have announced that their upcoming series Marvel Zombies will be released in 2024. The four-episode long series will tackle parallel universe stories in which popular Marvel characters become Zombies. The series will be a spin-off from one of the episodes of Marvel’s Disney+ animated show What if…?

The series is a part of Marvel’s initiative to include more mature content with explicit violence for the adult audience. Disney plus’ recent special presentation titled Werewolf by Night and the upcoming Deadpool 3 are also part of the recent move towards R-rated content. Deadpool 3 will bring the titular character, played by Ryan Reynolds, to the MCU along with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.

It was earlier announced at the San Diego Comic-Con that the Marvel Zombies animated show will feature minor superheroes who survived the What if…Zombies episode. The superhero lineup includes characters like Kate Bishop, Yelena, Shang-Chi, Ms. Marvel, and Jimmy Woo. The makers are yet to zero-in on an official release date.
