Emily Watson and Shirley Henderson will lead the cast of Dune prequel series

No official release date has been announced for the series. However, the sequel to the Dune film is expected to hit theatres in November 2023

The Dune prequel series titled Dune:Sisterhood has cast Emily Watson and Shirley Henderson in lead roles. The series will revolve around the sisterhood known as Bene Gesserit, who have massive control over politics, power, and powerful families in the Dune universe. The show will be set 10,000 years before the events of the 2021 Dune film.

The series is an adaptation of the 2012 book Sisterhood of Dune written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, it is worth noting that Brian Herbert is the son of the author of the original Dune series Frank Herbert.

The show will reportedly trace the origins of the Bene Gesserit, the official logline of the show says, “Dune: Sisterhood follows the Harkonnen Sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect known as the Bene Gesserit.”
