Imogen Poots to star in Kristen Stewart directorial The Chronology of Water

Imogen Poots, known for films like Vivarium, That Awkward Moment, and She’s Funny That Way, has reportedly joined the cast of Kristen Stewart’s upcoming directorial The Chronology of Water. Stewart had earlier directed a short film for Ridley Scott’s production house Scott Free.

The film is an adaptation of a memoir of the same name written by Lidia Yuknavitch. The book talks about how the author found inspiration for life and as a swimmer through writing and how a past filled with abuse and suffering was healed through art and helped her excel as a teacher and a mother. The script for the film will be co-written by Stewart along with Andy Mingo.

On why she chose to adapt the memoir, Kristen Stewart says, “Lidia’s memoir honors corporeal experience, radically. To make that experience physical feels vital to me and what this impulse means … is that it absolutely must be a film. This project has been cooking for five years with the help of Scott Free, whom I could not be more privileged to have as partners and friends.”

While talking about how Imogen Poots became a part of the film, the actor/director says, “She will carry this movie and the staggering weight of Lidia’s life. She can hold it. I am beyond lucky to have her.”
