Hayden Panettiere, who starred in Scream 4 as Kirby Reed, is set to make a comeback in the next instalment of the franchise. 

She will join Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding and Jenna Ortega, who headlined the recently released reboot, Scream. 

This instalment will be directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (aka Radio Silence), who also helmed the reboot. 

The film is expected to follow what happens to the recent survivors —Sam (Barrera), Mindy (Brown), Chad (Gooding) and Tara (Ortega) — as they leave Woodsboro to start their lives afresh. 

In Scream 4, Kirby was the lone teenage survivor of the Second Woodsboro Murders.

The shooting of the sequel, which will be written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick, is expected to kick off this summer. 

The next instalment of Scream will hit theatres worldwide March 31, 2023.
