Ann Dowd to star in thriller film The Undertaker's Children

Actor Ann Dowd will star in an upcoming thriller film titled The Undertaker's Children. The film, which is currently in pre-production, is set to be helmed by debutant Alex Gayner.

Dowd will be seen as a secretive undertaker forced to take in two orphans. When her sinister plan for getting rid of the kids in her care is revealed, the children plan a daring escape and find themselves facing evil forces.

The Undertaker's Children will be produced by The Exchange, which will introduce the project at the upcoming 2022 Cannes Film Market.

Dowd is best known for her role as Aunt Lydia in The Handmaid's Tale. Her other notable roles include Hereditary, The Leftovers, Mass, and Compliance. The actor recently wrapped filming on The Independent opposite Brian Cox and Jodie Turner-Smith, which was also produced and sold by The Exchange.
