Sharon Stone joins cast of DC's Blue Beetle film

DCEU's upcoming superhero film Blue Beetle has roped in Hollywood actor Sharon Stone to play a pivotal negative role. Along with Stone, Raoul Max Trujillo has also joined to play a villain.

Written by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, the Warner Bros. film is directed by Angel Manuel Soto. Headlined by Xolo Mariduena, the film also stars Harvey Guillen, Belissa Escobedo, and Bruna Marquezine.

Blue Beetle follows plays Jaime Reyes (Mariduena), a young Latino man who becomes a superhero in the DC universe after acquiring an alien super suit.

Stone will play Victoria Kord, an original character created for the film, while  Trujillo will play Carapax the Indestructible Man.

Notably, in the comics, Jaime is the third to take up the mantle of the Blue Beetle. He eventually finds his way to become a part of the Teen Titans. Recently, the character became popular after its role in the second season of the animated series Young Justice.

Blue Beetle is expected to hit screens on August 18, 2023.
