Alien sequel on cards with Fede Alvarez writing and directing it 

The previous films in the franchise include Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, Alien Resurrection, Alien vs. Predator, Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem, Prometheus and Alien: Covenant.

Fede Álvarez who is known for helming 2013's Evil Dead reboot and the Don't Breathe franchise will write and direct a new stand-alone Alien film for 20th Century Studios and original series' director Ridley Scott will produce the project through his Scott Free banner. The new film will be made for Hulu, instead of theatres, as part of a plan for 20 th Century to make ten films a year for the Disney-owned platform.

Not much is known about the film now, but sources say that it is not connected to the previous films in the franchise.
