Marvel’s upcoming mini-series titled Secret Invasion is reported to undergo reshoots with a new writer. Sources report that the reshoots are not in any way an indicator of the show’s quality and are normal for shows and films to go through under Disney. The Disney+ series is based on the comic book storyline of the same name released in 2008, written by Brian Michael Bendis and Leinil Francis Yu. The show revolves around a race of shapeshifting aliens called Skrulls coming to earth and infiltrating the governments and other powerful institutions.

The six episode show will start streaming from 2023 and will expand on the story threads of MCU's phase five.

Director of SHIELD, Nick Fury, played by Samuel Jackson will reunite with his Skrull associate Talos, played by Ben Mendelsohn. The presence of the Skrulls in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was officially confirmed in Spiderman: Far From Home which was released in 2019.

Samuel Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn will be joined by recurring Marvel cast members Cobie Smulders, Martin Freeman, and Don Cheadle. The cast will be joined by Marvel newcomers Emilia Clarke, Christopher McDonald, Olivia Coleman, Killian Scott, and Kingsley Ben-Adir. Kyle Bradstreet created the show for Disney+ while Thomas Bezucha and Ali Selim are brought on as directors.
