The trailer for the Emmett Till biopic titled Till was released online. The film is based on the gut-wrenching true events around Emmett Till’s lynching. The horrific events happened in 1955 in the USA, where a 14-year-old African-American boy was lynched by an angry mob who alleged that he had offended a white woman.

Despite the brutal nature of the attack, his mother insisted on an open-casket funeral, which was attended by many. Images from the funeral sparked nationwide outrage, becoming an icon for the civil rights movement.

Till is directed by Chinonye Chukwu who also acts as a co-writer along with Michael Reilly and Keith Beauchamp. The cast includes Danielle Deadwyler, Jalyn Hall, Frankie Faison, Haley Bennett, and Whoopi Goldberg. The film is set to premiere at New York Film Festival, set to take place between September-October.

The film is currently scheduled to release on 7 October 2022.
