Donald Glover's FX show titled Atlanta released an announcement video for its upcoming season 4. After season 3, which was primarily set in Europe, the central characters are returning to their hometown of Atlanta. The Afro-Surrealist show is lauded for its portrayal of themes like white supremacy, racism, existentialism, and the African-American culture.

The season 4 announcement was made with a video loaded with surrealist elements. As we see the main characters walk out of a store, we see things reminiscent of earlier episodes dropping around them. The short video ends with rapper Paper Boi ready to do a ‘mic drop,’ but the mic stays still, hovering in the air, while the main characters fall into a chasm, dropping out of frame.

The show has won two Golden Globes Awards and two Primetime Emmy Awards during its three-season run so far. The fourth and final season is confirmed to premiere sometime in September. Since the team is busy filming the show, the makers have not officially confirmed any release date as of yet.

Donald Glover, who created and writes for the show, stars as Earn along with Brian Tyree Henry, Zazie Beetz, and Lakeith Stanfield. Along with Donald Glover, his brother Stephen Glover, Hiro Murai, Paul Simms, and Dianne McGunigle are executive producing the show.
