Adam Brody, Maxim Jasper Swinton, Meara Mahoney Gross join Fleishman is in Trouble

The series is headlined by Lizzy Caplan, Jesse Eisenberg, and Claire Danes

Fleishman is in Trouble, a limited series adaptation of Taffy Brodesser-Akner’s bestselling debut novel of the same name has been in the making for some time now with Lizzy Caplan and Jesse Eisenberg attached to star. Earlier this week, it was announced that actor Claire Danes will play a pivotal role in the series, it is now announced that actors Adam Brody, Maxim Jasper Swinton, and Meara Mahoney Gross are are also set to join the cast of the series.

Fleishman is in Trouble follows the story of Toby Fleishman, a recently separated man who dives into the world of dating apps with the kind of success he had never had in dating in his youth before he got married. But just at the start of his first summer of sexual freedom, his ex-wife Rachel disappears, leaving him with the kids and no hint of where she is or whether she plans to return. The newly eligible bachelor must juggle being a full-time parent, reconnecting with old friends, transitioning into a long-awaited promotion at the hospital he works at as a hepatologist, and the world of single women in New York City.

Eisenberg will play Fleishman, Caplan will play the narrator of the series named Libby, and Danes will Fleishman's ex-wife Rachel in the series. Brody is set to portray Toby's friend Seth, while Swinton and Gross will play Fleishman's children.

Brodesser-Akner will write the nine-episode series and executive produce it along with Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly and Susannah Grant. Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris will direct multiple episodes of the show.

Actor Brody was recently seen in films like Promising Young Woman, The Kid Detective, Shazam, and Ready or Not. Swinton recently appeared on Netflix's Halston, while Gross appeared in the political satire film Don’t Look Up.
