Dafne Keen has revealed that the upcoming Star Wars series The Acolyte is the first project in the space opera franchise to revolve around the supposed antagonists: The Sith Order. Keen rose to fame playing the young mutant X-23 in Logan opposite Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. The actor was recently cast in the upcoming Star Wars prequel series.

The actor said in an interview, “It’s kind of an explanation of how the Sith infiltrated the Jedi. It’s a Sith-led story, which has never been done before.” The series will reportedly take place years before The Phantom Menace during the High Republic era and will show how the Sith, who practise the dark side of the force, infiltrate the Jedi order.

Apart from Dafne Keen, the cast of the series also includes Squid Game fame Lee Jung-Jae,  Amandla Stenberg, Manny Jacinto, Charlie Barnett, Rebecca Henderson, Dean Charles-Chapman, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Carrie-Anne Moss.

The series is created by Russian Doll fame Leslye Headland. While Star Wars: The Acolyte is currently scheduled to stream on Disney+, the makers are yet to announce a release date.
