Apple TV+ series starring Natalie Portman, Lady in the Lake's, production halted recently after the makers of the show opted upon receiving threats of violence.

According to media reports, the Baltimore police confirmed that a group of locals contacted the makers who were shooting on Park Avenue in the downtown area on Friday. They threatened to return if they did not stop the shooting. The makers were also asked to pay $50,000 to them as permission for shooting.

However the makers chose to reschedule the shooting, thus halting the production.

Lady in the Lake went on floors in April and is set in Baltimore in 1966. It is an adaptation of Laura Lippman's novel by the same name. Besides Natalie, it also stars Moses Ingram, Y’Lan Noel, Mikey Madison and Brett Gelman, among others.

While Alma Har'el is the creator of the series and helming it, it is executive produced by Christopher Legget.
