Jeffrey Dean Morgan has reportedly joined the cast of season 4 of the hit Amazon Prime Video series The Boys. The actor is known for playing the antihero 'Comedian' in the 2009 film The Watchmen, which satirised the superhero genre. Morgan will join his Supernatural castmate Jensen Ackles who had recently joined The Boys in season 3.

The actor has been pretty vocal about his love for the show, which inadvertently made the fans expect him to join the cast when every new season of The Boys was announced. Eric Kripke, the creator of the show had a Twitter conversation with the actor in 2020 where he asked him to be a part of season 3, to which Morgan replied: “in a heartbeat.” After being unavailable for the third season, the actor has recently confirmed that he is a part of the upcoming season.

Whether Jeffrey Dean Morgan is playing a superhero or if he’s part of The Boys is anybody’s guess at this point. The cast and crew recently arrived in Canada to start filming for the season. Kripke shared a picture of the script for the first episode of season 4. The new season is expected to be released during the first half of 2023.
