The third instalment of the Fantastic Beasts franchise has been titled, The Secrets of Dumbledore, and will release on April 15, 2022.

David Yates, who directed the first two films in the franchise, returns to direct The Secrets of Dumbledore, which was initially slated for a July 15, 2022 release.

The official logline of the film read, "Professor Albus Dumbledore knows the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald is moving to seize control of the wizarding world. Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old and new beasts and clash with Grindelwald's growing legion of followers. But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore remain on the sidelines?"

Starring Eddie Redmayne as the magizoologist Newt Scamander, the film features Jude Law as the young Albus Dumbledore. Johnny Depp, who played Grindelwald in the first two films, has now been replaced by Mads Mikkelsen.

Franchise regulars Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, and Jessica Williams are part of this film too, which has been written by Harry Potter author JK Rowling and Steve Kloves.
