First look of Bradley Cooper-Guillermo Del Toro film Nightmare Alley out

CE Features

The first look pictures of Oscar-winning filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro's new film Nightmare Alley have been released.

It has Bradley Cooper, Toni Collette, Rooney Mara, Cate Blanchett, David Strathairn, Willem Dafoe, Richard Jenkins, Ron Perlman, Holt McCallany, Clifton Collins Jr., Tim Blake Nelson, Mary Steenburgen as part of the cast.

Nightmare Alley is an adaptation of the 1946 noir novel by William Lindsay, which first hit the big screen with a 1947 adaptation.

Guillermo Del Toro, who is well known for his fantasy films (Pan's LabyrinthShape of Water), is attempting the noir genre for the first time. Nightmare Alley will be the director's take on the classic film noir as he plans to invert some of the genre archetypes.

Bradley Cooper stars as Stanton Carlisle, a former carnival worker who makes it big as a nightclub performer, using cold-reading tricks he picked up in the sideshow to establish himself as a mind reader. Cate Blanchett plays Dr. Lilith Ritter, a psychiatrist who first tries to expose him and she becomes entangled in his schemes. Strathairn plays the alcoholic husband of Collette's character.

Searchlight Pictures will be distributing the film. It was originally scheduled to hit screens on December 3, 2021, but has been pushed back to December 17.
