British actors Cynthia Erivo and Andy Serkis have joined Idris Elba in the cast of Netflix's film version of the hit BBC series Luther.

Jamie Payne of The Alienist fame will direct the feature film. The series, created by Neil Cross, features  Elba reprising his role as DCI John Luther. The actor has won two Golden Globes and a Royal Television Society best actor award for his portrayal of Luther.

Details regarding Cynthia Erivo and Andy Serkis' characters in the film version have not yet been revealed.

Netflix is producing the film in association with the BBC. Elba and Cross are also producing it along with Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and David Ready for Chernin Entertainment.
