First look of Jason Momoa from Aquaman 2 out

CE Features

Filmmaker James Wan has unveiled the first look of Jason Momoa's Arthur Curry from Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the sequel to the 2018 superhero blockbuster. The character can be seen donning a new, dark stealth suit in one of the two pictures shared by Wan on Instagram. The filmmaker has also shared the inspirations behind the character's look.

"Here’s Jason Momoa in the classic Aquaman suit and a sneak peek at his other outfit — the stealth suit," Wan wrote on Instagram. "Atlantean tech based on cephalopod’s camouflaging ability. David Leslie Johnson (screenwriter) and I were inspired by the 80’s 'blue suit'." The new suit hints that the film will be exploring more mythology from the comics.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom also marks the return of Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, and Dolph Lundgren, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. The filming of the sequel commenced earlier this June and it is currently scheduled to hit the marquee on December 16, 2022.
