Paul Mescal, Josh O'Connor to headline WWI romance film The History of Sound

Actors Paul Mescal and Josh O'Connor will star in the upcoming period romance film titled The History of Sound.

The film, based on the eponymous Pushcart Prize-winning story by Ben Shattuck, is set to be directed by South African filmmaker Oliver Hermanus (Moffie, Beauty, The Endless River).

The History of Sound follows two young men, Lionel (Mescal) and David (O’Connor), who, during World War I set out to record the lives, voices and music of their American countrymen

The film will begin filming in 2022, with shoots planned predominantly in the US, UK, and Italy. End Cue's Andrew Kortschak, Lisa Ciuffetti and Andrea Roa are producing The History of Sound
