Filming of Florence Pugh's The Wonder begins

The first look of the film has also been revealed earlier today

Netflix has announced that the filming of The Wonder, starring Florence Pugh, has begun in Ireland. The streaming giant has also revealed the first look of the film. 

The Wonder is an official adaptation of Emma Donoghue's novel by the same name. The psychological thriller is inspired by the 19th century-phenomenon of the “fasting girls," and reportedly stars Pugh as an English nurse named Lib Wright.

The film will be directed by Sebastián Lelio, whose directorial credits include A Fantastic Woman, Disobedience, and Gloria to name a few. Donoghue has adapted the screenplay along with Lelio and Alice Birch. Tom Burke, Niamh Algar, Elaine Cassidy, Kíla Lord Cassidy, Toby Jones, and Dermot Crowley will also star.

Pugh recently starred in Black Widow. She will also appear in Don't Worry Darling, directed by Olivia Wilde.
