'You've got caged' because New Line Cinema has released the first look of Karl Urban as the iconic Johnny Cage in the sequel to the Mortal Kombat movie. Karl Urban, known for his roles in The Boys and the Star Trek film series, is starring as the brash and foul-mouthed Johnny Cage. He stars alongside Hiroyuki Sanada (Shogun), who plays Scorpion, and Ludi Lin (Aquaman), who plays Liu Kang.

Mortal Kombat II is based on the hit video game series and is directed by Simon McQuoid, who returns from the first film. Cast members returning from the first film include Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Mehcad Brooks, Lewis Tan, Chin Han, Tadabanu Asano, Joe Taslim, and Hiroyuki Sanada. Adeline Rudolph, Tati Gabrielle, and Damon Herriman join this film with Urban.

Mortal Kombat II is produced by New Line Cinema, the studio behind The Lord of the Rings film series and The Conjuring Universe. It is set to release on October 24, 2025.
