‘Bharjari is a challenge and a beacon of hope’

Bharjari did face a lot of hiccups during its making, but it never lost the momentum. Chethan Kumar’s directorial is now back in news for its choice of distributor.

Dhruva Sarja’s third film will be distributed by Prasad, who had bid adieu to the movie industry early this January because he had been hospitalised with a health complication. Back from the brink, he has decided to take this project as a challenge and do the kidney transplantation from the money he earns from this.

Speaking to CE, Prasad tells us, “I am on dialysis now, and wanted to keep myself active to get over my depression. My passion is films, without it I felt like I isolated; I felt like I was half dead. Moreover, I didn’t want to rely on charity to get my transplant done.”

Prasad is confident that Bharjari will do well. “I had distributed Dhruva’s second film Bahaddhur and it did well,” he says. “The producer Srinivas of RS Production and financer Basha is also helping me sort out my life by giving me this responsibility. They have placed their confidence in me.”

The film is now in post production, and the team is gearing up for its audio release, which has been planned for the first week of August. The film also features Rachita Ram as the female lead and Hariprriya in a key role along with Vaishali Deepak. Bharjari has music by V Harikrishna and cinematography by Sreesha Kuduvalli.
