Having begun shooting for Dharman, actor Simran has once again expressed her excitement about reuniting with Rajinikanth, calling the actor one of her biggest inspirations and describing the opportunity as a dream come true.
Speaking to Gobinath, Simran said she was thrilled to be sharing screen space with Rajinikanth again after Petta (2019). "I'm extremely happy to be working with Superstar again. I'm a huge, huge fan of his. I have never seen another person who is so selfless, humble and simple, without even a trace of arrogance. There is so much to learn from him. He is one of my role models," she said.
The actor added that she had always hoped for another opportunity to collaborate with Rajinikanth, as she felt their portions together in Petta were too brief. "Whenever I met him after Petta, I would tell him, 'Sir, I want to work with you more than I did in Petta.' When Dharman happened, I couldn't believe it. I'm really happy to be getting this chance," she recalled.
Simran also spoke about the significance of Dharman being produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International. Calling the collaboration between Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth a landmark moment, she said, "This is the biggest combination. It's something that happens once in history. I'm just happy to be a part of it."
Directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, Dharman stars Rajinikanth in the lead and marks Simran's on-screen reunion with the Superstar in six years. The film also stars Raashi Khanna and will feature Rajinikanth as a doctor.
Earlier this month, Simran shared photographs teasing her look from the film and wrote, "Nearly three decades of memories, learning, and gratitude. Happy to begin another beautiful chapter with Superstar Rajinikanth in Dharman. Looking forward to this journey." Dharman is backed by Raaj Kamal Films International and is currently under production.
