Vijay's Tamillaga Vettri Kazhagam's State Coordinator of the Media and Press Relations, TVK Ramesh, has addressed the clash between the actor's final film, Jana Nayagan, and Sivakarthikeyan's Parasakthi. For the unversed, the latter was earlier scheduled for release on January 14 but was pulled back to January 10, releasing a day after Jana Nayagan. Netizens and fans of Vijay have been criticising the film's team for the move, but TVK Ramesh has now said that it is a narrative set by the opposition.
Speaking about the clash to Aadhan Cinema, Ramesh said, "It is Sivakarthikeyan who has consistently praised Vijay Anna for handing over the baton to him, and we have absolutely nothing against him. Jana Nayagan is not just Vijay Anna’s final film. Parasakthi may be another project, but Jana Nayagan is equivalent to a hundred public rallies and nearly 500 political conferences. People will clearly understand its political takeaway when they watch the film after the upcoming elections."
Further, Ramesh spoke about what Vijay's film has to offer. "Jana Nayagan will not overtly promote the party, but it will make audiences think about how and why they vote in the 2026 elections. In that sense, the film itself functions as a political campaign for Vijay Anna. We do not have the time to engage in competition with other films, as we are focused on social welfare initiatives and political work."
The politician also said that they are prioritising political work at the moment. "There is a deliberate attempt to shift attention toward film-related discussions and perceived competition instead of the politics surrounding Vijay Anna during this election period. This has led to a narrative suggesting that we are opposed to Sivakarthikeyan, which is untrue. Vijay Anna has clearly stated that he is stepping away from cinema, and anyone with talent is free to thrive in that space," he shared.
Helmed by H Vinoth, Jana Nayagan also stars Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Bobby Deol, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Priyamani and Narain, among others.
